The Crusader football program has experienced a great deal of success on the field and in the classroom since 1919. Among those successes are:
- A total of nine conference championships in the Indiana Collegiate Conference and Pioneer Football League
- The 1950 team went a perfect 9-0 during the regular season and earned a New Year’s Day bowl appearance in the Cigar Bowl
- 27 All-Americans
- Five Academic All-Americans, including two First Team selections
- 16 Conference Players of the Year
- Five Conference Coach of the Year awards
- A total of 155 First Team All-Conference selections
- Five players that went on to play professionally
